The Senior Room recently completed a full day of workshops in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). These education workshops, sponsored by SFI (Science Foundation of Ireland), enable pupils and learners to get excited and engage with STEM. These workshops explored a societal challenge related to sustainability and used STEM thinking and hands-on activities to examine and solve the problems

The school was recently awarded a green flag in Food and Biodiversity Global Citizenship. All classes have worked very hard to achieve this over the last two years. The award ceremony, usually held in Cork, was held virtually on 25th May.

The first match of our annual school league is on Thursday 26th of May. Our teams have been chosen and the most important event in our school calendar is about to begin! Tense, thrilling, competitive and fun it is a right of passage for all our pupils. We look forward to a league every bit as inspiring as our Spring Basketball League.

The Rainbow Room had a wonderful day in Kennedy’s Pet Farm recently for their annual school tour. As well as exploring the farm, play areas and shed they fed the small animals and enjoyed the puppies and chicks. We think the photographs say it all!

School Book FairAs reading is the cornerstone of the Curriculum we at all times actively encourage reading. On the 12th of May we will welcome Celtic Travelling Books to our school so that we can continue to promote books and reading. Our Book Fair will take place over 3 days with 15% of all books purchased being returned to the school

The Senior classes of our school will walk part of the Kerry Way on the 2nd of April next in response to  former RTE newsreader Charlie Bird’s appeal for money to raise awareness of Motor Neuron Disease (MND) and to increase research into this deadly disease.
