The History of St. Michael’s National School
St. Michael’s National School opened its doors in 1966 with an enrolment of 130 pupils. Mr Batty Burns was the first Principal of our school. The modern building was a great relief to all 4 teachers who had taught in buildings with little comfort up to that time.
In 1994, Mr Tim O Sullivan became Principal. On his retirement in 2008, he was replaced by Mrs Áine Murphy, our current Principal.
Many committed, hardworking teachers have graced the halls of our school and we are very grateful to them for all they did to instil a love of learning and a quest for knowledge in all our pupils.
